Eyes rarely give early warning signs. Conditions such as glaucoma can progress for years without pain and without any obvious drop in vision, until the loss becomes irreversible.
How often to book a visit
- Adults with no known issues: a check-up every 2 years.
- After 40, or with a family history of glaucoma: yearly.
- Patients with diabetes: at least once a year, to assess the retina.
What a complete exam includes
Visual acuity measurement, assessment of the anterior segment, intraocular pressure measurement, and examination of the fundus. Together, these give a clear picture of your eye health and allow problems to be caught early.
