I am a senior ophthalmologist and doctor of medical sciences, subspecialized in strabismus and pediatric ophthalmology, oculoplastics, and ocular electrophysiology. My doctoral thesis focused on ocular manifestations of genetic diseases. Strabismus is my particular area of interest: diagnosing and treating eye motility disorders in children and adults, through both conservative methods and surgical approaches when needed.

My clinical work is dedicated especially to my youngest patients, but also covers eyelid and periorbital conditions, orbital pathology (including thyroid eye disease and its complications), as well as electrophysiological investigations that help with early diagnosis of retinal and neuro-ophthalmological diseases.

I also treat lacrimal duct disorders, in both newborns and adults, including procedures such as probing and stenting.

Another part of my practice is managing myopia in children and adolescents, focusing on current methods for slowing its progression, from special optical correction to pharmacological treatments and lifestyle recommendations, with the goal of preventing the long-term complications associated with severe myopia.

I have also built experience in visual rehabilitation, for both children and adults, which I have published in specialized ISI-indexed journals.

Besides my clinical work, I am a university teaching assistant at the “Iuliu Hațieganu” University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Cluj-Napoca. Constant contact with students and the teaching process has helped me develop a skill I consider essential in relating to patients: the ability to explain complex conditions and procedures in terms everyone can understand, using simple analogies honed during clinical rotations and presentations.

I believe in a kind of medicine where patients truly understand what’s happening with their eyes and actively participate in decisions about their own health. That’s why, in every consultation, I aim to offer not just a diagnosis and treatment, but also clarity, so that every patient (or, in children’s cases, every parent) leaves knowing exactly what comes next and why.
